About Vision
ensvision.com is a peer-to-peer market aggregator for digital domains—bridging traditional DNS and blockchain-based domains like ENS. We don’t custody or list domains ourselves—instead, we aggregate listings from across major protocols and platforms, providing users with trustless access to the domain markets they care about.Your One-Stop-Shop for Domains:Bulk Domain Search & Lookup Aggregated Listings: Buy, Sell, Auction Across Protocols Market Aggregation Orderbook Domain Management Tools Filtered, Trustless Search by Category & Utility Discover, connect, and manage domain assets across the decentralized internet—from DNS to ENS, and everything in between. ensvision.com puts the onchain domain world at your fingertips. ensvision.com acts purely as a pass-through interface and agent for the user. Brief History Of Dns
1983: DNS was created by Paul Mockapetris to simplify navigating the growing internet.1985: The first domain ever registered was symbolics.com, marking the beginning of the domain registration era.1990s: Domain names gained commercial value as the internet expanded, leading to the rise of domain registrars and the dot-com boom. Today: DNS supports millions of domains globally, powering nearly every online service.
Dns And Blockchain
DNS operates entirely outside the blockchain ecosystem. It is a centralized system managed by organizations like ICANN and domain registrars. However, projects like Namefi and 3DNS bridge traditional DNS with blockchain by tokenizing Web2 domains. This innovation allows domains to be traded, owned, and managed as blockchain-based digital assets, combining the stability of DNS with the potential of decentralized technology.
How Does Dns Work
Domain Registration: Website owners register a unique domain name through a domain registrar.DNS Query: When a user types a domain name into a browser, a DNS query is triggered.Name Resolution: The query goes through multiple DNS servers to find the correct IP address associated with the domain.Connection: Once the IP address is found, the browser connects to the web server, displaying the website.
Key Components Of Dns
Domain Registrars: Companies where domains are registered (e.g., Go Daddy, Namecheap).Name Servers: Servers that store DNS records and respond to DNS queries.DNS Records: Data types like A (Address), CNAME (Alias), and MX (Mail Exchange) that define how the domain functions. Why Is DNS Important?User-Friendly: Simplifies internet navigation through recognizable names.Global Connectivity: Enables seamless communication across the web.Reliability: Ensures website availability with multiple redundant servers.
Dns Domain Name System
The traditional Domain Name System (DNS) is the internet's address book, translating human-readable domain names like example.com into IP addresses that computers use to identify web servers. This system allows users to access websites without memorizing long numeric IP addresses.
Expirations
What happens when a .ETH name expires if it is not renewed? When a name expires, it enters a 90-day grace period where the original owner of the name has the exclusive right to reclaim the name. If the name is not renewed within the 90-day grace period the domain enters the 21-day premium period where anyone can register the name by paying the temporary premium.Grace Period Once a name expires, a 90-day grace period is started, during which the original owner still has the exclusive right to renew and keep the name. If the original owner does not renew it before the end of the 90-day grace period, the name then becomes available for someone else to register during the premium period. You will have to extend the registration up to the current date to remove a name from its grace period. For example, on the very last day of the grace period, the name would have to be renewed for a minimum of 90 days to remove it from the grace period. Premium Period After the 90-day grace period ends, the name becomes available for registration by anyone with a temporary premium that decreases over the course of 21 days. The released name will continue to resolve your ETH address until it is overwritten by the new owner. The premium beyond the normal registration price for any name starts at $100,000,000 the moment the name exits the grace period and decreases exponentially to $0 over a period of 21 days. So after 21 days the cost to register is the normal price of registration (e.g. $5/year for 5+ character names).
Records
Records in ENS provide a customizable and decentralized way to manage your online identity and presence. By setting up these records, you create a more cohesive and accessible digital identity, streamlining your interactions in the Web3 ecosystem.Avatar Record You can set an avatar for your ENS domain, which typically displays across compatible services and wallets. This can be an image representing your brand or personal identity in the digital space.Social Media Records ENS allows you to add your social media handles as records to your domain. This creates a reliable, blockchain-based method to link your ENS domain to your online social presence. Address Records Beyond just Ethereum addresses, ENS supports a variety of cryptocurrency address records. This means you can receive different types of cryptocurrencies directly to your .eth domain. Text Records These are flexible records for storing miscellaneous information like email addresses, descriptions, or other personal data linked to your ENS name.Jump to the Manage ENS Section, where you can learn how to set your records.
Registrations
Depending on the length of your ENS name there are three tiers for yearly renewals for ENS domains. Five characters or longer cost 5$/year, four character names cost $160/year, and three character names cost $640/year to register. Each time users wish to renew their ENS name they must pay an Ethereum gas fee to process the transaction. What does it cost to register a .eth domain?Registration fees are currently set at the following prices by the ENS registry:5+ character .eth names: $5 in ETH per year.4 character .eth names: $160 in ETH per year.3 character .eth names: $640 in ETH per year.3 and 4-character names have higher pricing to reflect the limited availability of these names.WARNING: Non-ASCII characters Please be aware that some special characters may or may not be supported to resolve by ENS.Some characters look identical or similar to English letters, especially characters from Cyrillic and Greek. There are also traditional Chinese characters that can look identical or very similar to simplified variants. Please verify the latest ENS documentation to confirm the characters you wish to register are resolvable.WARNING: Malformed ENS Names What does the stop icon (⛔) next to a name indicate? If you notice a stop icon (⛔) next to a displayed name within our platform, it serves as a cautionary alert. This warning signifies that the name does not conform to the latest ENS (Ethereum Name Service) normalization standards. Reasons for this might include the use of characters that are either not resolvable or displayable, or the inclusion of zero-width joiners, among other issues. To assist you, Vision not only alerts you to this discrepancy but also suggests a normalized version of the name. Our goal is to ensure clarity and usability in line with current ENS protocols, enhancing your experience on our platform.
Renewals
Renewal Fees You can extend the registration time of your .ETH name at any moment and you can pay in advance for as many years as you'd like. The fees for renewals are set by the ENS Dao and are the same as the initial registration cost based on the length of the name: 5 characters or longer cost $5/year4 character names cost $160/year3 character names cost $640/year Did you know you can renew any ENS domains, even if you're not the owner? That's right! Any User can renew a name for someone else! The ability for any Ethereum account to renew any name is a function that is only there for your convenience. Paying to renew a name that does not belong to you does not give you ownership of the name nor does it make it such that you will receive the name if it expires.
Subdomains
Did you know that with ENS's hierarchical structure, you have the creative freedom to craft subdomains under your ENS domains? It's like owning a digital tree, where each branch can be a unique subdomain!Take Furyan, for instance. He owns "furyan.eth" and has the flexibility to create "dev.furyan.eth," customizing it to suit his needs or style. Whether it's for personal branding, project differentiation, or organizational needs, the possibilities are endless with subdomains.Eager to dive deeper and explore the world of subdomains? Discover how to masterfully manage them and unlock their full potential on ensvision.com. Jump to the Subdomains FAQ Section.
Ens Ethereum Name Service
The Ethereum Name Service (ENS) is a naming protocol that empowers users to translate complex Web3 identifiers such as crypto wallet addresses, hashes, and metadata into human-readable domain names. With an ENS domain, you can connect all your crypto wallets under one single ENS domain and receive cryptocurrencies or NFTs. The Ethereum Blockchain is used to store ENS records therefore they are transparent and decentralized.ENS Explained With ENS, you can create or buy a “nickname” such as furyan.eth and link it to your public Ethereum wallet address. Instead of sharing the complex 40-character length of your crypto wallet address, you can now share your ENS domain each time you want to receive a payment or NFTs. By sharing your ENS address you can say goodbye to worrying about typos! After you complete the process of registering an ENS name and successfully setting the wallet address you are now ready to send funds to your ENS name instead of the traditional long-form wallet address. ENS domains are built on top of the ERC-721 standard enabling them to act as NFTs that are tradeable across marketplaces like ensvision.com. ENS also empowers Web3 to enable SIWE (sign-in with Ethereum) which allows ENS to act as an all-in-one web3 identity facilitating your username, wallet address, email address, website, and more!Follow ENS: X @ensdomains Web: ens.domains
Web2 Domain Tokenization
What is Web2 Domain Tokenization?Web2 domain tokenization is the process of converting traditional DNS-based domain names (f.E. yourdomain.com) into blockchain-based tokens (NFTs), enabling them to be managed, traded, and transferred securely on platforms and marketplaces like ensvision.com. How Does It Work?Ownership Verification: The domain owner verifies ownership by configuring DNS records or using compatible services.Token Creation: After verification, the domain is tokenized as a blockchain-based asset (NFT or token).On-Chain Management: Tokenized domains can be managed, traded, or transferred securely on supported blockchain networks.Seamless Trading: Tokenized domains are traded directly on blockchain marketplaces, eliminating the need for traditional escrow services. Why Tokenize Web2 Domains?Decentralized Ownership: Full control without dependence on centralized registrars.Transparent Transactions: Trustless and secure through blockchain technology.Global Market Access: Connect with global buyers and sellers on Web3 platforms.Domain Utility: Domains gain financial value as tradable, programmable assets.

Why Does A Parent Name Need To Be Wrapped For Creating Subnames
Wrapping a parent name is an essential step to make it 'submintable'. This process involves upgrading your ENS name to a new format that supports the creation and management of subnames. Wrapping essentially turns your ENS name into a smart contract, providing the flexibility to issue and govern subnames. This step is crucial for ensuring that subnames are fully integrated into the ENS ecosystem, allowing for seamless interaction and management within the decentralized web. Remember, once your parent name is wrapped, you gain the ability to create and administer subnames, expanding your presence and utility within the ENS framework.
Wrap Your Name Make Ens Name Submintable
To make your ENS name submintable, you first need to wrap it. Start by navigating to your profile.Navigate to the name you want to make submintable, hover over the name and click on the 3 dots:A pop-up menu will open, click on “view in manager” to proceed. The Name will be opened on the name manager page. Simply click on wrap now in the unlock new features banner to start wrapping your name.Proceed by clicking “wrap” and sign the transaction with your wallet. The transaction consumes a gas fee on the Ethereum network.
What Are Subnames
Subnames, often referred to as subdomains, in ENS are like 'child' names under a primary (parent) ENS name. For example, if you own 'example.eth', you can create subnames like 'wallet.example.eth' or 'site.example.eth'. Example of dev.eth subnames These subnames can be independently controlled and configured, making them useful for organizing different services or identities under one main ENS name.
Glossary
Stepping into the realm of ENS and Web3 can be like entering a new world filled with unique jargon and concepts. Our comprehensive guide is here to demystify these terms, providing you with clear, concise explanations. Whether you're a seasoned Web3 enthusiast or a curious newcomer, this section is your key to understanding the essential terms that define the exciting landscape of Ethereum Name Service (ENS) and the broader Web3 universe. Dive in and empower your Web3 journey with knowledge!ENS (Ethereum Name Service)ENS is a decentralized domain name system built on the Ethereum blockchain. It allows users to have human-readable addresses instead of the traditional long, alphanumeric Ethereum addresses..eth Domain This is a domain suffix specific to ENS. When you see an address like ‘name.eth’, it’s a sign that it’s an ENS domain. These domains are unique and can be purchased by users. Auction ENS domains are primarily procured via an auction mechanism. Interested parties place their bids, and the domain goes to the top bidder once the auction concludes.Avatar / pfp This refers to the profile picture or graphical representation associated with an ENS domain or user. (Set your Avatar)Controller An account empowered to modify the records of a name. Both the Registrant or Controller can change the Controller. (Set Controller)Deed Within the ENS framework, a deed is a distinct smart contract that safeguards the funds (in ETH) necessary for bidding on an ENS domain. Post-auction, the highest bid gets secured within this deed. Expiration Date The designated date when a registration lapses and necessitates renewal. ENS domains can be renewed by anyone. (Renew ENS Name)Marketplace Marketplace refers to a digital platform or venue where users can buy, sell, trade, or even lease ENS domain names. Just as traditional domain names (like .com or .org) can be bought or sold, ENS domains (like .eth) have their own value and can be traded in these specialized marketplaces. Users can buy & list their ENS domains, bid on domains they’re interested in, and trade their domains — similar to traditional NFT Marketplaces. Name Wrapper A specialized smart contract enabling the issuance of subdomains (like sub.domain.eth) as individual Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs).Namehash A specialized algorithm that processes an ENS name to yield a unique cryptographic hash representing that specific name.Node This is a unique cryptographic hash that identifies a name. Owner The designated entity listed in the ENS registry’s owner field. Owners possess the authority to transfer ownership, determine a resolver or TTL, and establish or reassign subdomains.Public Resolver A universal resolver provided by the ENS consortium. It’s the preferred resolver, equipped with an array of features beneficial for domain proprietors. Records Datasets like multiple cryptocurrency wallet addresses, hosted content, avatars, emails, descriptions, social media handles, and more linked to the ENS domain. The Controller determines these records. (Set Records) Registrar This is a contract designated for the allocation of subdomains. Configurable at any ENS level, they are directed by the registry’s owner field. Registration Signifies a registrar’s documentation of a user’s domain ownership. It’s separate from the Registry’s owner field, with registrations housed within the registrar contract, also detailing expiry dates, fees, and more. (Register ENS Names)Registrant The specific individual or entity possessing rights over an ENS domain. They command the domain and determine its resolver and other parameters.Renewal ENS mandates periodic domain renewals, ensuring domains that are dormant or no longer desired can be repurposed. Resolver A resolver is a contract on the Ethereum blockchain tasked with converting readable names into system-friendly addresses and vice versa.Reverse Resolver Contrary to a standard resolver that turns names into addresses, a reverse resolver inverts this, converting Ethereum addresses into readable ENS names.Subdomain Drawing parallels from conventional domain systems, ENS lets domain owners spawn subdomains under their primary domain, such as ‘shop.myname.eth’ stemming from ‘myname.eth’. (Subnames)Time-To-Live (TTL)A configurable setting that instructs the client on the duration for caching records. Ideally, this setting remains unchanged, preserving records on the blockchain. Top-Level-Domain (TLD)A TLD is the rightmost segment of a domain name, positioned after the last dot. (f.E. .eth / .x / .block / .nft / .com etc.) Often referred to as domain extensions, TLDs help identify specific attributes of a website, like its purpose, owner, or geographical location. In the evolving web3 ecosystem, new TLDs have emerged, representing decentralized domains on blockchain networks. These web3 TLDs facilitate a more decentralized and user-centric web experience, allowing for seamless integration with decentralized applications and services.Transfer In the ENS context, transferring refers to the act of changing ownership of a domain. This means that a new Ethereum address becomes the registrant of the domain. (Transfer your ENS Names)TXT Record TXT records are a type of DNS record, and in the context of ENS, they can be used to store arbitrary text data against a domain. This can include data for domain verification, information about the domain, or other metadata.Web3Web 3 represents the third era of the web. Unlike the previous versions, Web1 (readable web) and Web2 (read-write web), Web3 introduces a decentralized internet powered by blockchain technology. In this framework, users have control over their own data, identities, and transactions. Web3 enables peer-to-peer interactions, removing the need for intermediaries. Zone File A zone file is a text-based file that contains a list of DNS records for a domain. In the ENS context, while it doesn’t use traditional DNS zone files, the concept is similar in terms of mapping human-readable names to machine-readable information.Zero Address In the Ethereum and ENS context, the zero address is the Ethereum address that has all zeros. It’s often used in smart contracts and ENS operations to represent an unset address or to burn tokens.Read more in our Blogpost about Decoding ENS: Decoding ENS

How often can I change the mint price for my subdomains?
You have complete flexibility. You can change the price as frequently as needed to align with your strategy or market conditions.Gas Fees Consideration: However, it's important to remember that each change in mint price is processed as a transaction on the Ethereum blockchain. This means that every adjustment incurs a transaction fee, commonly known as a 'gas fee'. These fees can vary based on the network's congestion at the time of the transaction.Strategic Adjustments: Therefore, while you have the freedom to change prices often, it's wise to plan these adjustments strategically. Consider the current market conditions, your long-term goals for your subdomains, and the potential impact of fluctuating gas fees on your overall costs.
